Gardens and especially roses were a big deal where I grew up.  Roses and a white picket fence are such a strong memory for me. 

I found artificial roses and once I chopped off the flowers the design became really clear to me.  Beastie has a felt base and the leaves are hand stitched on. The unusual legs are hardware I found, which I painted bronze and then roughed up with steel wool.

I love that it looks somewhere between a small bush and a creepy crawly thing. Beastie measures approximately34cm in diameter by 21cm high.
